An amazing start

This past Saturday I was blessed to be in a wedding. One of my dearest friends Kelly got married and I was honored to be a part of it all. It was so much fun preparing for the big day with her and then when it actually came it was such a fantastic day. We spent all day at the church getting ready (not to mention the the nails the day before!).
The absolute best part of the day though was the ceremony. Right before we made our way down the isle Kelly and I said a quick prayer, which may seem like not such a big deal, but Kelly gave her life to Christ the Wednesday before the wedding.
I told Kelly afterward, but it was such an incredible ceremony because the presence of the Lord was felt there. It wasn't just about Kelly and Jeff, but God was there too. He was felt there, and His presence was truly made known.
I couldn't help but think that that has to be the BEST way to start of your marriage. When you are completely aware that God has to be your main focus. That it's not about all the planning, or the flowers, or the cake at the reception, but it's about that moment when you commit your life to someone and to God. You acknowledge that you love that person with all you have, because God loved you first.
It brought me back to our wedding day. Drew has said it before at weddings, that hearing the couple repeat the vows reminds him of the commitment he made and makes it new again for him. I was reminded again this weekend of the vows that I said to Drew and fell in love with him all over again.
What better way to start your marriage off then with God as your focus...
