Around the house..

Just wanted to post some pictures of what's been goin on lately...

We've had a pretty uneventful week, Drew left for Haiti last Wednesday so K and I spent the weekend at my parents house. He gets back this Saturday and I couldn't be more excited to see him!

Here's some of what we've had goin on lately...

K asked her daddy if she could go to Haiti with him... he was really tempted to take her!

K and Mary during an impromptu swim time. It was HOT outside so we didn't stay out too long, but they had fun while we did!

She is getting more of an imagination each day, she wanted to wear her fairy shoes... I got her a cute fairy outfit and a yard sale a couple of weeks ago for her to 'play' in. I remember always loving to play dress up when I was little....I hope she continues to love it!

And here she is with another pair of shoes on...mommy's! She didn't get too far, but sure was curious to try it out!

Grandma calls this Kerrington's bus...its a paper box, with a sheet around it. K gets in and gets pulled around the house. She loves it! She had a rabbit and her music toy along for the ride this time. Notice her pretty pink glasses too...these are the only glasses she'll keep on longer than 15 seconds!
We're having a good time, and trying to keep busy. I was officially 15 weeks pregnant this past Saturday. I've been really bad at documenting this pregnancy as well...no pregnancy pics yet! I guess I just feel fat and not pregnant!!! I will try my best to get a pic or to posted soon... I think there is a little bump starting to show!

Happy 15 Months Kerrington!

Kerrington turned 15 months yesterday! She is getting to be such a big girl, and as our pediatrician confirmed today, she is no longer a baby, but officially a toddler! We had our well visit today and she is a healthy girl! We're glad to have only had to visit him for her well visits recently.

Here's what she's up to lately:

  • She's 23 pounds 2 ounces. 30 inches long. That puts her at about 90th percentile for weight and 80th percentile for height.
  • Size 4 diapers, size 12-18 month clothes.
  • Her hair probably would touch her shoulders if it weren't so curly...but she has beautiful curly brown hair.
  • She says 'momma', 'dada', 'baaaa" aka ball, and 'Aaayyyeee" aka Ollie. She also will tell us what a lion, chicken, and cow says...which is incredibly cute! She is a very good babbler...I would love to know what goes through her head when she 'talks' or yells...
  • She knows please, and all done with sign language. I really need to try and teach her more, but this gets us by and hopefully she'll progress to words soon.
  • She is a picky eater...with chicken nuggets, mac n' cheese, yogurt, and fruit topping her all time favorite list. Although, we were out to eat the other day and she ate french fries and tons of ketchup which she's never liked before!
  • She loves to walk around with her vacuum and 'help' mommy clean. We're trying to start these habits early!!!
  • She looooves to be outside, and here in Savannah, it is H. O. T., and with her little baby brother or sister on the way, I am loving the AC, so we clash when it comes to this issue!
  • She has also started the 'terrible twos' but a little early, I guess?! She will definitely throw a major fit if she doesn't get something she wants, when she wants it. It's an all out, knees go limp, head flails back fit...wonderful!

Here she is with her best bud, she loves Ollie, and I'm pretty sure he is crazy about her too, he just doesn't show it as much as she does!

Loving her daddy on Father's Day!

Walking around the house with her slippers on, too cute!

My little handful

Kerrington is almost 15 months now and boy is she starting to be a handful! She is so entertaining, and makes me laugh every day, but I joke with my mom that I don't want to look to close in the mirror because she's probably giving me a ton of gray hairs already!

She is in to everything, and very independent. She loves to be able to do things on her own, and isn't very fearful either. We kid that she must have her dad's personality because she also is strong willed, and has to be told multiple times "no" if she is doing something she shouldn't' be, and then typically still tries to do it anyway!

I love her more than I could ever imagine, here are some recent pics that might explain a little of what I'm talking about!

Our little fashonista, posing for a shot.

Okay, here is what I mean. The other day, I was in the office, cleaning up. K had been in her room, but I heard her go into her bathroom. When I went in to check on her, she was IN the bathtub, with the curtain still drawn! She had crawled into the tub, by herself, and started getting all the toys out to play!

Sis at the fountains downtown. She was a little too timid for these...although, I would be too! I think if she would have been on top of one when it went off she would have been shot up in the air!

This was after her second busted lip... we were in her room talking to Gigi and Mo on skype and she sat down and her lip met my knee and started bleeding immediately! A little ice and she was back to normal :)

And here she is climbing the porch stairs on her own! Something she does quite often nowadays, with supervision of course!

Another funny incident that happened recently.... my mom was over and I was watching another little girl Mary. We had finished up lunch and the girls were playing in the kitchen. My mom was helping me wipe up the floors really quickly. About 30 seconds went by and I hadn't heard a lot of commotion so I turned to see what the girls were doing. I saw Mary immediately, but couldn't see Kerrington. I got up and called for her, but no answer. I went into the living room...she wasn't there, walked back into the kitchen, wasn't there. So my mom started getting worried at this point. We both were calling for her. I went to the back (it has a gate, but sometimes its open) to see if she had walked to her room...nope, came back in the living room...calling for her, still no answer. So we both started to freak out a little. We decided to go back into the back rooms to see if she had gotten into a closet or something. After a through check, no Kerrington.... I came BACK into the kitchen, thought maybe she had gotten into a cabinet...nope. I was still calling for her and all the sudden I heard her make a noise, but couldn't see her! I opened up cabinets and finally opened up the little closet that we keep all the cleaning supplies in, and out walks Kerrington! She had closed herself in the closet, and hadn't made a peep until then!!!! Immediately I start cracking up because she walked out like no big deal. I think my mom had to sit down for awhile though!
She keeps me on my toes, that's for sure!!!

USI or bust!

We just got back from Sellersburg yesterday. We were up for the week to celebrate Morgan's graduation! We had a great week of visiting with family and friends. We can't be more proud of our Morgie as she prepares to go off to University of Southern Indiana to study Early Childhood Education on a Tennis scholarship! Go Morgan!!!!

We flew up last Saturday (Kerrington is getting pretty seasoned at flying on airplanes, who knew!?) and spent the week at Drew's parents house. Sunday was Morgan's graduation party, Monday we had Memorial Day celebrations. Tuesday we visited with some friends, Wednesday we went to Morgan's Baccalaureate, Thursday she graduated, and we flew back on Friday!

Needless to say, it was a packed full week, but well worth it. Here are some pics of our week:
