French Family Christmas

After our excitement at home, we headed over to Grandpa and Grandma's house! We spent all day there (and night too!). We read the birth of Jesus, opened presents, ate yummy food, played games, watched movies...it was a great day! Here's some of the highlights:

Kerrington with her grandpa (she loves him, especially when he's got ICE CREAM!)

Mom and I opening gifts from Vince, look at our little on-looker!

Kerrington got a jewelry box from her Uncle Vince...guess that means she needs some jewelry!

She's a good present opener....can't wait to see how she does on her first birthday!

Gettin kisses from her Uncle Aaron!
Mmmmm....tasty mashed potatoes!

Waiting on breakfast the next morning!
Tired babe.
Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! This time of year is such a fantastic time with family, friends, and remembrance of the birth of our Savior! What a better time to be thankful for all the things God has given us this past year, especially our most precious gift in Kerrington. Oh, I love that little girl...
Ours isn't quite over, we're heading to Indiana tomorrow for a week full of fun with Drew's family!

First Christmas

What a great Christmas morning we had with Kerrington! She did such a great job and had so much fun opening presents! This was her first Christmas (outside my belly) and I think she wasn't sure what to do with herself!

She got to open gifts from mommy and daddy...

And get some presents from her stocking....
See her presents from Santa...
After we told that these were from Santa...

And got to play with her newest toy! Can't believe this little girl is able to stand...next thing you know, she'll be walking!
After she got done opening her gifts, she quickly got tired and took a nap! Drew and I finished up our gifts, got ready, and headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the French Family Christmas.... (that needs it's very own post!)
Tomorrow (Sunday) we're traveling to Indiana for Gigi and Papaw's Christmas! We're excited!

Happy 9 Months Kerrington!

Today we had Kerrington's 9 month check up! She got a perfectly clean bill of health and we couldn't be happier! She's just a joy in our lives and we of course couldn't imagine things without her now! We're so excited to celebrate this Christmas as a family of four (including Ollie, of course).
Here's what our girl is up to lately:
  • She weighs 19lbs 9oz, 75th percentile for weight...we weren't surprised to hear that one!
  • She is 27.5 inches long, 50th percentile for height
  • Her head circumference in 44 inches, 50th percentile
  • She is in 9-12 month clothing
  • She is wearing size 3 or 4 diapers
  • She is eating EVERYTHING in site. Table food is her preference now...she hasn't turned down anything we've given her!
  • She is still breastfeeding! I'm so thankful for this, I hope to go til she is 1.
  • She's saying 'momma', and 'dada', and some 'bbbaaabbaa's here and there, but pretty sure that doesn't mean anything. Any other thing that comes out of her mouth is a yell...our child doesn't 'talk' :)
  • She has officially five teeth as of today. Her middle left, top tooth broke through on her 9 month birthday yesterday!
  • She's still commando crawling! Every once in awhile she will get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth, but no movement.
  • She loves to stand now. She will stand on the side of the couch for as long as she can, she's just starting to move her little feet around.
  • She loves Ollie! They're slowly becoming best friends. When she first started coming toward him, he'd bolt. Now, he just lays there and lets her crawl all over him. I see a great friendship starting!

Well, as you can see our angel is just moving right a long! In no time I'll be writing on her about her 1 year birthday...time sure does fly! We've got a busy month or so coming up. The Holidays, a trip home to Indiana, and... we're moving! Just about 5 mins away, but to a big house! God is good....that's all I can say.

We're thankful for Kerrington each and every day. She's such a blessing. God just continues to show us His goodness and faithfulness...

Look what she found...

This girl can sure get around now. Yesterday I was in her room, and she was crawling around. I heard her go into the guest bath, and knew exactly what she was going for. Ollie's bowls. She found them recently. I decided to let her go at it and she sure did! She eventually found the water, began splashing, and then lifted the bowl out of the holder (all under my supervision).
If you can't tell... she is soaked!

Mom...why did you make me stop! I was having fun!

Love this little stinker!

The Christmas Parade

Last weekend my parents and I took Kerrington to a Christmas parade. I think it was the longest parade that I've ever been to. We had fun watching all the fire trucks, and marching bands, and animals go by. It was a little chilly down here, so we had to keep Kerrington bundled. Afterward they had had a gathering in the town hall area and had snow blowing!

It's amazing to think that that's all the snow we'll probably get this year! What a difference from years past!

A visit to Santa

This past weekend we took Kerrington downtown to see Santa! I was especially excited to snap a few photos of her first glimpse of old St. Nick!

She did pretty well! When we first put her down she looked at him...

Looked at us...

The started to get a little whimper :) She never broke out into a full cry, but once she figured out she was on someone elses lap (Santa Claus or not) she wanted off! She told him everything she wanted for Christmas...I think it included lots of boxes, and wrapping paper!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, I have to say this was a Thanksgiving to put it the books. It was pretty wonderful! One of the biggest reasons of course was because we were so thankful for our sweet, precious angel that God blessed us with this year! To think that He would allow us to raise her is amazing and we are so thankful that we can celebrate with her this year.

Our Thanksgiving day started out with a light breakfast, of course! We had to save room for all the fixins'!

Next, we went over to the church for The annual Ten Can Run/Walk. Uncle Aaron was there when we got there which was exciting...we hadn't seen him since August!
Drew, Aaron, my dad, Kerrington, Ollie and I participated in the 5K walk. It was a fun environment to be in and we all enjoyed a brisk walk/jog before our big feast!
After the walk, we got ready and headed to my parents NEW house (they moved in Monday!) for Thanksgiving! We enjoyed the rest of the day hanging out, relaxing, EATING, playing dominoes, and just catching up.Kerrington was big enough to join us at the table. She really enjoyed that! She sampled some of the mashed potatoes, rutabaga, and parsnips, green bean casserole, cranberry relish, sweet potato casserole, turkey, stuffing, and rolls. She was so funny too...she kept begging and begging for more bites of food! We had a great time of Thanksgiving before and after our dinner. It was wonderful, I'm so thankful that my family knows Jesus Christ and that we all can celebrate what HE has done for us together.
So I hope Kerrington's first Thanksgiving was wonderful for her too! If this picture is any indication, then I think it was!

We only wish that Gigi, Papaw, and aunt Mo could have been with us this year! Then it would have been perfect! Happy Thanksgiving!

Kerrington and Adeline!

We had the opportunity to meet Josh, Elizabeth, and Adeline in Dublin, Georgia on Saturday! It's the half way mark between Savannah (where we live) and Atlanta (where they live)! It endend up being a crazy day...thanks to some car troubles on our part, but we had a good time!
It was fun to have the girls together. It's been probably about 4 or 5 months since they've been together. A lot changes in those couple of months! Here's a picture of the girls back in May:

And here they are from this past weekend:

See...it's it crazy what a couple of months changes in the life of a baby! They're just too cute aren't they?

We had so much fun comparing stories, feeding the girls at the table, picking up their toys from the ground, showing off their 'pegs', and laughing!

Here the girls are with their daddies:

And with their mommies:

Again, it was fun to catch up! It's good to know how close we are now, hopefully we'll get to do it again soon....without the complications!!! Thanks again Swaffords! We love you!

Happy 8 months Kerrington!

Today our baby girl is 8 months old! Woah! I made a little collage below to show how she's changed since she was just 1 month old:

She's not only changed physically, but she sure has developed a personality! Every day she does something different that makes us laugh. We can't wait to see what else this little one has to show us! Here's what she's been up to lately:

  • She's in size 3 diapers. Still going strong here...I'm not sure when we'll need to make the switch, I felt like for awhile there she was moving so quickly from NB, to 1, to 2....

  • Size 6-12 (I know, big range right!) clothes

  • She's eating solid meals 3 times a day. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She's eating EVERYTHING! She loves it all! We just started giving her 'bites' of our food and she is doing really well with it. Mostly we've given her green beans, mashed potatoes, bread, easy things to mash up in her mouth. At home we've tried cubes of cheese, yogurt, grapes, bananas, cheerios and she's doing well with all!

  • She's working on the pincher grab! It's so fun to see those little fingers go for food

  • We're still breastfeeding. I just love it. This past week though (warning...this might be TMI for some of you) she started biting me. Can I just say OUCH...it hurts, really bad. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to keep it up if she keeps doing it. We'll have to wait and see.

  • She has 4, count em 4 teeth now! Two on bottom and 2 on top! The top 2 are the outside ones! It's funny, when you get a glimpse of them, they look like little fangs.

  • She is mobile! She crawls, or shall I say, drags herself around now! It's funny to watch but one minute she'll be in one spot on the floor and the next thing you know she's across the room! I wonder if she'll figure out how to lift that knee up and actually crawl...

  • She's sleeping pretty well at night. She falls asleep in her own bed between 8 and 9 at night. Like clock work though she's up at anywhere between 3-6 to eat again and stay in our bed the rest of the morning until around 7:30, 8. We'll take what we can get!

  • She's saying 'mama', usually it comes out as 'mom' though...she's too mature for that baby talk. We're waiting on the 'dada' still. Every once in awhile we hear a 'baba', but we're pretty sure it's her just making noise.

  • She loves her Ollie, just follows him around (and tries to torment) every where!

Well, I think that's a long enough list. I'm sure I could go on and on.... here's a couple more of the babe...

Cuddling with her 'dada' in the morning!

Our happy little girl, what can I say, we're so blessed!

Showing off her "peggys" a.k.a. teeth (you'll have to ask me about THAT story sometime!)

With her buddy...we totally didn't stage this one, he just decided to take a seat next to his sister!

Obsession

Unfortunately for him, Ollie has become Kerrington's obsession. She sees him, and makes a b-line, everytime! He does pretty good with her. Mostly he'll just get up right before she can grab him and move. Every once in awhile he will let out a little warning noise to her, but trust me, it doesn't stop her! She's hilarious now that she can 'crawl'. She scoots her little belly all over the room now... the rolling has become less and less.

Saturday is her 8 month birthday! She's getting too big! With each passing day, we're loving her more and more!

Buddies

Last week we were in the nursery for Wednesday night service. Kerrington's friend

Mary was there too. As you can tell, they're good friends. They even held hands for awhile! Kerrington was happy to see her there last week because usually there is just a bunch of boys!
