20 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 20 Weeks! Half way there!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 4-10lbs (initially I lost weight, but at our last Dr. appt I gained. Our appt is next week so I'll have an accurate gain then!)
Maternity Clothes: Oh yeah, love those stretchy waist bands!
Best Moment This Week: Feeling stronger kicks and movements.
Gender: Nobody knows! Well people have their hunches, but we're waiting til the day this lil one arrives to find out!
Movement: Starting to feel more movements throughout the day. With K, I hardly ever felt anything because placenta was anterior.
Food Craving: This week... LaRosa's pizza and Marx Bagels...both of which my parents brought back from Cincy! YUM!!!
What I Miss: Not feeling bloated 85% of the day :)
Sleep: Typically up once a night to go to the bathroom.
What I'm looking Forward To: A crazy life with a toddler and newborn! Bring it on!
Belly Button: Innie
Stretch Marks: Just the leftovers from my first pregnancy, hope it stays that way!
Symptoms: Heartburn is here!

Beach Day!

Drew's mom and sister were in town this past week/weekend! They've been here a couple other times and we've gone to the beach, but it's never been nice! We were anxious to take them to the beach on a BEAUTIFUL day and have some fun in the sun!

On Friday, we drove over to Tybee and enjoyed a couple of hours playing in the sand, and ocean. I think they really enjoyed it! Kerrington had a great time too! Last time we were at the beach, I think she got a lot of salt water in her eyes and up her nose. We were a bit more careful this time, and she had a blast!

Here's some pics of our day!

Playing with her Aunt Mo...she loved being with her Aunt Mo this weekend, and even said her name..."Mo!"

Filling up her cup with sand....I've got a cute video that I'd love to upload of her playing. She took this cup, and filled it with salt water from a bucket...then took a big drink! Her face was priceless!

Playing with her Gigi...the only 'bad' part of the day... Gigi got a little burnt after being out in the sun! Thank goodness for aloevera!

Daddy got burried!

19 Weeks!

(I've seen this highlight list on a few blogs I read and think it's a really cute way to document your pregnancy, so although I'm a little late...here it goes)

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 19 Weeks
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 4-10 lbs (initially I lost weight, then at our last appt. I had gained what I lost back, so we'll see how much I've gained next week!
Maternity Clothes: definitely! Love, love, love the stretchy waist band
Best Moment This Week: feeling this little one move around
Gender: unknown! We're old fashioned and don't find out the sex until birth
Movement: typically I feel the most movement between 8-10 at night... when K is asleep and
I'm sitting for the first time that day :)
Food Craving: At first I didn't crave anything....but now that I'm past the sickness, I crave a lot of sweets!
What I miss: Not feeling so exhausted
Sleep: Waking up once in the night to pee, but I've been doing that ever since I was pregnant with Kerrington!
What I'm Looking Forward To: our 20 week ultrasound next week where we get to see this little guy/girl!
Belly Button: in...it stayed in with K, I don't think I've got enough skin for it to poke out!
Stretch Marks: So far just left overs from my first pregnancy
Symptoms: Like I said, feeling good now that I'm in the second trimester. I was definitely more sick and more worn out during the first trimester than I was with Kerrington.

Birthday!!!

Sis giving me my birthday card. Drew gave it to her to walk in to me and she opened the card in the hallway all by herself!
Reading her card!

Getting my one of many birthday kisses!

LOVE my family! So blessed!

My hot hubby!

Sis enjoying her drink at lunch!

Today is my birthday! It's been such a great day. Drew's mom and sister have been in town since Wednesday and we've had such a good time (more posts on that to come). We didn't do anything special, but that's exactly how I like it! We went to a great sandwich shop for lunch and did a little shopping. Afterward, we came home and K got a nap before church. Our church service was awesome and we came home and had dinner and cake!

It was great to spend the day with my family. I wouldn't have had it any other way!

Today K is 16 months old. I didn't post a 13 or 14 month update because I thought I was only going to do every three months after her 1st birthday. She is growing so much though and learning new things, I wanted to capture all these memories and write things down so I don't forget them!

  • She is learning a lot of new words and sounds lately...she says 'baby', and 'shoes', and has learned what a monkey and elephant says in the past couple of weeks.

  • She is very imaginative and creative. I love watching her especially when she seems to be really in to something she's doing. She'll play with her baby stroller and put different things in it and push them around.

  • She's learned to leave her paci in bed in the mornings and after nap. I was hoping this would teach her to just use paci for the bed, and so far I think it's worked!

  • She loves going to the pool in my parent's subdivision. It has a baby pool where the water goes just about to her chest and she can walk around in it. She shows off her independence here...she doesn't need any help from grown ups!

  • She likes to feed herself at lunch and dinner, and is getting better and better at it. She still is pretty messy, but we make improvements every day!

  • She's becoming more open to foods. She ate beef and noodles, and mashed potatoes this week.. something she wouldn't have done a month ago.

  • Her canines are coming in. I am beginning to think that may have been the cause to our rough week or so lately...this week she's been fantastic!

The nose...

This is Kerrington's nose today.... looks pretty good right?? Well you'll see a progression over the next few pictures of Kerrington's nose throughout the week. Let's just say the healing process is pretty amazing! The story is posted below...

(we were at the pool Friday, hence no picture, but I think the chlorine helped take the scab off!)

Monday
So, Monday morning was a regular morning. I got K up and out of her bed. She likes to help let Ollie out, so we went outside while Ollie did his business. On the way back in, K was walking to the door and must not have been awake yet, because she tripped right over her own toe. Unfortunately I don't think she had enough time to bring her hands out and her nose met the concrete first. She immediately looked up at me and started crying. There wasn't too much blood, so I didn't think it was going to be a terrible mark, but over the course of the day it started to look worse! We applied Neosporin twice a day, and in less that a week it almost looks as if nothing ever happened!
I'm sure this is the first of many...

17 weeks!

Today I am 17 weeks pregnant! We had a doctors appointment this past Tuesday and it went great. The NP said we were measuring right at 17 weeks. We heard the baby's heartbeat, going strong at 140 beats per minute! It's such a wonderful sound.
I hate to say it, but this is the first pic we've snapped of this pregnancy! I guess we're just a bit more distracted these days, but no less excited!!!
I've had a couple dreams about the baby... in the first, it was a girl, but I think that it might have been K as a baby?! The second dream it was a boy...so who knows!! Only time will tell!!
I had to post a pic of K. She's wearing a pair of shoes that were mine when I was younger! My mom has saved them all this time because she said when I was younger, she had to leave these at my grandma's house because I always wanted to wear them, and I grew out of them! They're still a little big for K's feet, but she had fun walking around in them for awhile! Silly girl!

Daddy's home!

Drew got home Saturday night from Haiti! He was gone for 10 days and it was the longest 10 days of my life! I told him that night that it was hard the last time he was gone for more than a week, but this time was much harder! I didn't realize (til he wasn't here) how much I looked forward to him coming home in the evening. When I knew he wasn't coming home those 10 days it wasn't easy. I grew so much more respect for single mothers and military moms. I couldn't do it.

I kept K up so she could see her daddy... they had a lot of fun. She didn't go to bed til 10 that night! I think she would have stayed up longer if we'd let her. She just kept going and going, I think she knew if she stopped she'd fall asleep.

Daddy is showing K his gifts from Haiti

Having fun with dad!

The next day, Happy 4th of July!

Today, July the 5th, K, Drew, and my family went to Hilton Head for the day! It was awesome!

Getting ready to leave. Hilton Head is about 45mins to 1 hour away. We stopped at the Tanger outlets to get some maternity shorts for mamma...things are starting to get tight! We headed to the beach afterward and had some fun!

K wasn't too thrilled with the water. It was a big change from last year, but I don't think she liked the big waves coming toward her. She had much more fun playing in the sand.

Building castles!

Me and my wonderful hubby!

It was a great day. I love that we're so close to the beach... it's a blessing! We got home and Drew made an awesome dinner. It was a great finish to the day.

Firecracker

Who needs to go out and buy firecrackers when you've got your very own at home! And boy, has she been a firecracker recently! My mom and I decided (while Drew has been out of town in Haiti) that I should definitely invest in Dr. James Dobson's book 'The Strong Willed Child'. She is certainly turning out that way and she's only 15 months! She is definitely going to challenge my parenting skills, no doubt about it... but I love her just the same!
Happy 4th to all our friends and family! We love you all!
