4 Month check up & cereal!

Yesterday was Kerrington's 4 month check up! As I write that I can't believe we're at 4 months already! Time is flying! She did great at the doctors office. She was smiling and cooing all up until she got her shots... poor baby! Dr. Bird thinks she is doing great and even gave us the O.K. to start cereal. I was wondering if this would be a possibility, because I was starting to think that just milk wasn't lasting her through the night. More on that later!
Our babe weighs 15 pounds 4 ounces, and is 24 and 3/4 inches long! She is in the 75th percentile for her height and weight! Drew and I took bets on how big she would be, he won. She is meeting all the developmental milestones for her age as well.
Now for the cereal. Once we got the okay, we were anxious to see how Kerrington would do. So after the appointment, I went out and bought some cereal. Last night, we tried it for the first time. It was hilarious to watch her face react to something new! She was unsure at first, but towards the end I think she was really trying to figure it out! She would get the spoon in her mouth and try to suck the cereal off. After the spoon came out she would end up just drooling it out of her mouth. I made it pretty thin the first time around, but I am sure after a little while she'll get the hang of it.

I thought that she was messy before we introduced cereal. I told Drew, we're in for a whole new mess now! That bib was soaked with cereal! We had fun with her though, I say, bring on the mess! I'm hoping too that it wasn't just a coincidence that she slept ALL night either! We fed her cereal before her last feed of the night, gave her a bath, then fed her. She was out about 9:30pm. We woke her (kind of, I think she might have slept through it) for her 7:00am feed and she slept after that til about 9:30am. I just got up once to give her her pacifier back around 4:00am. How wonderful would it be if she continues like that! Don't worry, I'm not holding my breath. Everyday she is making us laugh and smile, we wonder what in the world we ever did without her.

Happy 4 Months Kerrington!

Happy 4 months to our sweet baby girl! It's hard to believe yet another month has passed and our girl is growing like a weed! We go to the doctor next week, I can't wait to see where she is in her height and weight. I can tell that she's definitely gotten longer, and we all know she has had no problem gaining weight. Here's some of what lil miss has been up to:
  • She is sleeping anywhere from 7-10 hours at night...in her own bed! Some nights are great and she will last the whole night, and some nights the toots wake the babe up and due to our lack of being awake, she ends up in our bed for the rest of the morning! We're so proud of her.
  • She love her hands! About 2 or 3 weeks ago she found her hands, she can't get enough of them now. Sometimes we'll find her trying to fit both her hand and pacifier in her mouth at one time.
  • She's become a major drooler... about 10 or 15 mins after an outfit is on her, it's drenched with drool. I wonder if she'll be an early teether?
  • We've gotten a handful of almost laughs out of her. A couple of times I've been tickling her, and she'll make a lil shrill like she is trying to laugh, I can't wait to her her first full laugh, what a sweet sound that will be!
  • She's rolling, well almost. She has rolled from her belly to back a couple of times now, not purposely, but still, whatever we can brag about, we'll do it!
  • She's more vocal. We can almost have conversations with her. She will talk to us when she is really focused and often when she is trying to get to those hands of hers!
  • She loves watching Baby Einstein! She'll stare at the TV when its on, it's fantastic.
  • Kerrington loves taking a bath, we have a Fischer Price tub with the mesh overlay for new babies, last week I took it out and she is in the big girl part! It's so much fun watching her kick those legs and splash the water.

This little girl doesn't stand a chance, she is loved so dearly not only by Drew and I but by both her grandparents, aunt and uncles! She's bound to make you smile, so if you're ever in need, just let us know! We love you our sweet baby girl...more and more each day!

Kerrington's 3 month pictures

Our sweet babe will be 4 months next Tuesday, so I embarrassed to be just now getting these photos posted. Things have been so crazy this summer, I can't believe how fast the month has gone by! We decided to get professional pictures done at birth, 3,6,9, and 12 months. Our first pics were taken at our house (thanks to Rob Barrett!), and for the 3 month pics we went to JCPenny (coupons baby!!! even though we ended up spending more than the offer, oopps!) We love how they turned out, but why wouldn't we! We could just gobble this lil girl up, she's an incredible blessing in our lives. Everyday I crave her smiles that light up my heart. I thank God for her every chance I get and ask for His hand to be over her and to keep her safe. I'll be posting pictures of Kerrington on her 4 month birthday soon, so be on the look out!

Sleepy head

This is something I thought I would never see. The other day, Kerrington was in her jumper. I put her in it often now, she's starting to really enjoy it. When she is in it, she is pretty active, looking around, and now that her feet are touching the ground, jumping up and down. This is a great time for me to get some things done around the house. That's exactly what I was doing, when I looked over and here my was my little angel, fast asleep! How can you not adore that!

Visit from the Humphreys

Drew's dad, stepmom, her son, and Drew's two younger brothers stopped by the on July 3rd for a quick visit. They live in Indiana, and haven't seen Kerrington since she was born, so luckily they were able to drive up and have dinner with us and have a short visit! Their youngest, Luke, is just 3 months older than Kerrington, so we got them together for some pics:

Long time no blog...

It's been awhile since I've blogged and oh how I've missed it! It's been a crazy couple of weeks, coupling with the fact we didn't have internet service for a some of that time. There was a storm a few weeks back and it knocked out our service, and we just recently got it back! Whew! Last week Drew was the dean at Woodland Lakes Christian Camp, so he was gone all week. Instead of being home alone all week with the baby, I went out to my parents for a visit and so I wasn't able to update then either. Finally, I was working all weekend so nows my first chance to get on here and post a few things. I might have a few posts in a row since it's been awhile, so just beware!

Here's one of the latest of the chunky monkey.
