A day in photos

Kerrington, your birthday in photos:

Your first few 'Happy Birthday' songs weren't too well received. Your daddy and I came in to your room singing this morning and  you started crying and put your face in your pillow. This is a picture of when Mamaw and Papaw called. After this phone call you were much happier to hear the rest of your 'Happy Birthday' wishes. I think you just needed waking up!

Number 3, BLUE pancakes with BLUE candles for you to blow out. You have consistently requested all things blue for your birthday because in your own words, 'I love blue!'

This is just practice for when you get to blow out your birthday candles for your party this weekend! We can't wait!

After breakfast we got some play clothes on and headed outside! You wanted to play in the back yard so, that's what we did...

But first, we had a surprise visit by Papaw, Mamaw, and Uncle Denny. They sure do love you!

Then it was time to get down to business...we played on the new play set that Mamaw and Papaw gave us from their yard. You and Kellan sure do love this thing and I know we are going to wear it out!

After some play time, we took you (by your request) to Chick-fil-a (why, of course) for your birthday lunch. You were a very special guest today because the 'Moo-cow's mommy' gave you a bowl of ice cream with chocolate sauce and a cherry on top to go with your lunch! This picture was taken at 12:47p.m. the exact time of your birth!

After lunch we had to drop daddy off at church so he could get some work done. We came inside too so you could say 'hi' to your mamaw. You also got a special treat from Miss Tina because it was your birthday. You did such a good job today talking to everyone who asked you how old you were and told you 'Happy Birthday', I was so proud of you!

Getting some love from your daddy! After we left church we headed home for rest times. Kellan fell asleep in the car, but transferred really well to his bed. When it was time for your rest, you and I read two books (like always) and laid in bed together and fell asleep. We were both asleep pretty quickly and it was one of my favorite moments of the day. I absolutely loved cuddling next to you and getting to hold my birthday girl!

After our nap, we got up and ready, picked up Papaw, and headed to church for Wednesday night programming. We had dinner together at church (they made grilled cheese, which is out of the norm for the kids meal, but we told you it was because it was your birthday!). After dinner, you headed to your class and got to wear a special birthday sticker. We had to snap a picture with your buddy, Mary!

I asked you if your class sang you 'Happy Birthday' and you said yes. I hope they did and I hope it made you feel as special as you are! When we got home we make a quick Skype call to your Gigi and Papa in Indiana then got ready for bed. We ready a bible story, said our prayers, and then I headed out to lay Kellan down and daddy told you a couple stories. We went to sleep right after you but I heard you whimper so I came to check on you and I got a few more snuggles before you were fast asleep. I had such a wonderful day and I hope you did to. Your birthday was more special this year because this was the first year I think you actually knew what was going on! I made my heart sing every time a smile came on your face. I can't wait to celebrate with more family and friends this weekend. I know we'll have a great time. We love you Kerrington Leigh Humphreys! Welcome to the THREES!!!!!
