Allergy Testing

Kellan is our lil sick guy. From about 4 months up until he turned 1 year, he was sick, a lot. Due to his constant sickness, his doctors put him on breathing treatments and eventually Singulair. He was a wheezer, and so these medications were an effort to help our guy breathe better! At his 15 month check-up, our doctor thought it would be good to refer him to an allergist to see if we could pinpoint any specific things that may have been causing this. Our visit to the allergist was a really good experience. This picture is of the allergens that they poked his back with to see if he allergic to anything. Although it doesn't look great, this was taken shortly after they poked him, and after about 10 minutes, they were mostly gone. Good news....Kellan doesn't have any of the allergies they tested for!

We'll go back to the allergist in about a month to see if we can start reducing some of the frequency or dose of what he is on now. It seems like he has been improving over that past few months, I sure hope he is. The doctor reassured me that even though he is diagnosed as reactive airway disease, that most likely he will grow out of it and not become an asthmatic.

He was a good boy for all of it. He's put up with a lot of mess in his short lil life, so I wasn't surprised he did well. He has a sweet, calm, laid back personality. We love him, more than he'll ever know.
