Happy 18 Months Kellan

Kellan! You are 18 months old today! Half way to 2! What?! I just can't believe it! You are becoming a toddler, and doing what most toddlers do. You run, laugh, pull the toilet paper off the roll, play in Ollie's water bowl, dance, fall, and much more! I definitely have noticed a difference in your disposition from your sisters. Let's just say, you're less strong willed than she is. Don't get me wrong, you've got a bit of a temper at times, but not quite near what she did at this age. You follow your sissy around where ever she goes, and (try to) do everything she does. I hope you remain this close throughout your entire lives. You have a special bond with her that's like no other.

Here's what you've been up to lately:

  • You weigh about 26 pounds.
  • You stopped nursing between 16 and 17 months. You had only been nursing before naps and bedtime for a few months, and after your 15 month check-up the doctor nixed the nighttime nursing, so we worked on that and then naps, you didn't put up too much of a fight.
  • You eat what most toddlers eat, pretty picky about the veggies, but we can slip a few in every once in while.
  • Here are some words you say, "Hi", "Bye", "Dada", "Momma", "Papaw", "Sissy", "Ollie", "Gigi", "Ball", "Book"
  • You sure have stolen your mama's heart (shh! don't tell dada). Often, when I pick you up, you'll lay your head on my shoulder for a solid minute or so. It melts my heart every time.
  • You also hand out kisses often, open mouthed even!
  • You will say 'hi' and 'bye' to anyone you meet, sounds like your daddy.
  • You smooze papaw out of a few malted milk balls whenever we stop by his house. You know exactly where they are kept and point them out or go get them yourself.
  • You do really well at church. You get a little sad whenever you're dropped off to class, but once you're back there you forget all about that and have fun!
  • You love the pool and are fearless....like your sissy. Thank goodness for flotation devices!
  • You pray...it's the cutest thing ever. We ask you to fix your hands, and you clasp them together. This only lasts for a few seconds before you're ready to eat, but at least you've got the concept!

We love you sweet, precious boy! You're a gift from above! We pray that God will bless you and keep you, that His face will shine upon you and be gracious toward you, that He may turn His face toward you and give you peace.
