Visit to Santa

We made it to see Santa! We finally had a free night to take the kids to see Santa and tell him what they wanted for Christmas. They both told Santa they wanted bikes for Christmas (whew!).

Keaton even visited. He was thrilled. Can you tell?

Hugs for Santa

Kellan even got himself a kiss!

Fun memories!

* Funny story. I had been storing some Christmas presents under our bed...today Drew rearranged our room. Kerrington came out to me in the living room this afternoon and whispered in my ear, "I saw the pink guitar". Uh oh. We got Kerrington a mini guitar. She found it under my bed. I panicked.!
Me: "What?!"
K: (whispering in my ear again) " I saw the princess guitar under your bed"
Me: (looking at Drew with big, wide eyes) "How did you see that?"
K: "I saw a red ribbon under your bed and saw it was your dress, and I saw the pink guitar"
Me: (scrambling) "Oh, well, that's for Mallory"
K:"Oh, okay"
Me: "Do you think you'd like one of those for Christmas?"
K:"Yeah"
Me: "Well, you'll have to ask Santa for one"
Drew: "She is so me"

She's four. Lord help me.

Journey Fun!

The bigs and I got a chance to serve tonight at the Journey! I wasn't sure it was going to be possible this year, but we made it happen! We didn't stay long, but we had fun running around Bethlehem as town people!

The sweet lady dressing us said that Kerrington had Jewish hair so it was ok if we saw some of hers!

Would you like to try some sweet bread?

Just the cutest lil town kids you ever did see!

I hate RSV

This has been a horrible week. Just plain miserable. Little did I know what was a head of me the night of December 1st when Kerrington developed a fever. It was the beginning of a week (plus) of hell. We found out this past Saturday that RSV had entered our house and passed to al three of our kids.

Kerrington was sick first and missed two days of school. She had a fever on and off for two days and developed a horrible cough. I didn't take any pictures of her because I didn't think too much of it.

The next victim was this lil guy.
The horrible thing was, he got sick on his birthday. The night before he developed a fever and was coughing as well. Fever ensued on and off for two days.

And finally, my sweet, innocent lil Keaton got hit. He didn't handle it as well. We were in the doctors office by Saturday morning for fevers, cough and congestion. With one lil nose swab we discovered that RSV had hit our house like a bomb.

My lil baby has definitely gotten the worse of it. He's been just plain miserable these past few days and I'm definitely ready to have my smiley baby back. We went back to the doctor today to get checked again and it seems as if this nasty virus is just taking it's toll. We're hoping and praying that he's on the road to recovery and we'll all be able to rest easy soon.

I tell you what...now I know how my mom got her gray hairs. This being a parent thing ain't no joke. Seeing my children sick is the worst. I'd do just about anything to take it away from them.

Happy 2 Months Keaton Jay!

Keaton Jay, you are 2 months old today! Again, this month has passed all to quickly. I should get use to this by now, but its just not fair. Unfortunately, we spent the past week of your 1st month very sick. You were still on the mend, in fact, when I snapped your 2 month pictures.  Here's what's going on with you lately:

  • We got the opportunity to get you weighed at the doctor a few times this past week. We went to the doctor three times...you weighed 12lbs 9oz, 12lbs 5oz, and 12lbs 1oz with each visit. It broke my heart to see you were losing weight, but you just couldn't eat. We'll have your well check next week and I'm praying you'll be back to gaining!
  • Since you've been sick, you've had your first go around with medicines. This past week you've had Albuterol, Tylenol, Bromfed, and Amoxicillin. Whew.
  • You're wearing 0-3M and 3M clothing.
  • Size 1 diapers
  • You're on your way back to eating well again. It was so sad to see you struggle to eat, you didn't even want a bottle. We're still breastfeeding strong. During the day, you're eating just about every 3 hours. At night, you're in the pea pod with mommy and daddy, and you'll sometimes stretch to 4 hours.
  • You love to be held and cuddled for sleeps. Unless you are in a good sleep, you'll wake if I set you down. I've learned to cherish these times and not worry about the house. You'll grow up to fast, the dirty laundry can wait.
  •  You've had your first babysitting opportunities! I'm working three days a week at your big brother and sister's preschool so you get to spend some time with your Mamaw and daddy while I'm away.
  • Your eyes are still blue....I'm holding on to hope that you're going to have hazel eyes like your daddy. The jury is still out!
  • You had your first Thanksgiving, you enjoyed all the Turkey and fixins...and thought they were delicious!
  • You're smiling and cooing. It's the sweetest sound!

I knew my lil baby would be better when I got a smile out of you. You weren't quite feeling up to par on your two month birthday because I couldn't get a smile out of you. Even your sissy tried. You smiled for me the next day. That was the best feeling to see!

This is so stinkin' adorable to me...notice the milk dripping from your mouth.

Christmas Parade 2013

It was time for the annual Richmond Hill Christmas Parade! Unfortunately, Keaton was sick and needed to see the doctor, so mommy, mamaw and Keaton didn't go. Kerrington, Kellan, Daddy, Papaw, and Denny sure did have a great time though!

Set up and ready to go!

She's got her game face on...ready to get some candy!

Happy Birthday Kellan Bull Humphreys

Kellan Bull! You are officially three years old today! You, my first boy, are one neat kid. From the beginning, three years ago, at 1:44pm, on Saturday, December 4th, 2010, you stole my heart and were officially a momma's boy. And nothing has changed. You are my sweet, loving, considerate, kind boy. You OFTEN interrupt me, and get my attention just to tell me that you love me. I can't get upset with you, because its just so darn cute. Remember this when you're 23 and chasing after girls, okay?

We haven't had your well check up yet, that'll come next month. In fact, you're sick on your birthday. Can you believe that? We'd later find out that RSV spread like wildfire through our house. You were the second victim. You were supposed to go to school today and celebrate all the December birthdays in your class, but you stayed home with your Mamaw and lil brother instead. I was sad for you to miss it, but you didn't seem to mind.

You know the whole terrible two thing? Yeah, that was non-existent with you. Now you certainly weren't perfect. But you've been a breeze compared to well, um, compared to...never mind. Your biggest fault? You don't like to clean up. You sure do enjoy making a big 'ol mess, but you don't like to pick up after yourself.

You just love your big sister. Y'all are two peas in a pod. Really, she loves telling you what to do, because most of the time, you do it. Y'all get along so well. And oh, we can't leave lil brother out. You're the sweetest to him. You give him kisses as much as you can (which I'm sure might have helped to the spread of this nasty RSV). I'm looking forward to seeing your relationship develop.

You are a lover, not a fighter. Your teachers in preschool tell me often how much you love to give your friends hugs. I love that you're so friendly, it shows how sweet and gentle of a spirit you have.

I pray that you continue to learn and grow in the light of Lord. We love you more than you know Kellan Bull Humphreys
