Halloween 2013

Halloween 2013...

So far, since we've had more than one child, we've been able to coordinate their Halloween costumes. It's turned out really cute.

Astronaut and Rocket (2012)

Tiger and Lion (2011)

SO...this year we lucked out again. Kellan is starting to develop his own opinion, but he's still easily swayed. When Kerrington decided she wanted to be Ariel from The Little Mermaid, it wasn't long before Drew and I thought we'd have to cast Kellan and Keaton as side characters. We first thought Kellan could be Prince Aric, but that quickly went away because #1 he didn't want to be, and #2 we couldn't find and Prince Aric costumes out there. Go figure. Then, the light bulb went off...of course! Flounder and Sebastian!

We couldn't find the exact  Flounder costume, but that's ok. Kellan was good with being a fish, so we went with it!

Warning... your computer may break with the adorableness of this photo...

And then there is this...

I know, right??! You can't even stand it!

The funny thing about this is...a mommy from the pre-school class I assist in, brought this outfit to me in the hospital! She had no idea that we were thinking of this theme! How neat, huh?

And once again, that's all the pictures I snapped. Once we got over to our trick-or-treating destination, the chaos (the good kind) ensued and I was busy carrying a newborn, fetching food for the older two, and feeding myself before we headed out to gather (more) candy. By then, it was dark out and impossible for me to snap a (good) picture...at least with my phone...I'll have to see if I have any on our other computer...if so, I'll update!

Pumpkin Patch

Tonight I did something brave (or stupid). I ventured out with all three kids...drove in the car, by myself. It wasn't horrible...just felt slightly torturous driving in the car hearing Keaton screaming and not being able to do anything about it. Add both older kids repeatedly telling me that he was crying...ok it was pure torture. Other than that...it was fantastic!

We went to the East Campus's Pumpkin Patch! We had costumes planned for Halloween, and Kerrington's was liable to get ruined if we let her wear it both nights, so we opted for other costumes. Kerrington was a beautiful Princess name Aurora, and Kellan was a Fireman!

This was taken after I nursed Keaton, got a portable potty out of the back of the van, unlatched Kellan, pulled his pants down, sat him on the potty, pulled his pants up, and disposed of the paper towel and bag he peed in to....simultaneously. (I know...why didn't I just let him pee out the side? He is a boy after all. Well, I certainly would have except we were being passed about every three seconds by a car and I didn't want to be the 'pastor's wife who let her kid pee in the parking lot of the church where everyone could see).

And let the fun begin! Candy!!!! Kerrington  was all about it. No apprehension from this girl. She walked right up and collected her candy pieces with a 'please' and 'thank you'. Now Kellan, he wasn't so sure...he took a little coaxing to gather my, uh, I mean, his sugary goodness.

Nothing says Pumpkin Patch like a good ol' Face Paintin! A beautiful purple and yellow flower was drawn on her lil cheek.

Self-service. These people were trusting!

Annnd that's all the pictures I got. Give me a break people. I had a baby in sling and it was one of the first outings we had. There was a fire truck, but I couldn't snap a picture because Kellan was not so sure of it up close (even though he squeals with excitement whenever he sees on from our van). There were also bouncy houses, the kids got the chance to bounce for about 5 minutes with daddy while I fed Keaton before heading out. We ate some yummy chicken fingers and hot dogs with French fries before I made the torturous trek home driving the baby who doesn't like to not be held and the very informative big brother and sister :).

A fun night had by all!

Pumpkin painting and carving

Tonight we painted and carved our pumpkins! I'm not sure why...but this is the first time we've done this as a family! The kids loved it and we'll surely carry this tradition on!

K was so excited to paint her pumkin. Our lil artist!

KB is ready to go!

Concentration.

Daddy is stenciling out the big pumpkins and getting them ready to carve!

This was Drew's first time carving a pumpkin, ever! Can you believe that!

She gets it from her daddy...

Helpin out.

1st Check up!

Keaton had his first check-up today. We made it out of the house in time to drop sissy off at school and make it to the doctor. Whew!

Keaton wasn't too pleased to be there it seemed!

Already gaining again! Way to go buddy! Original birth weight was 7 lbs 14 ounces.

Trying to stay warm while we waited for the doctor. I think big brother took this picture (hence the blurriness).

Dr. Behm checkin our lil dude out!

Clean bill of health..just needed a blood draw to check jaundice level sis big brother and sister both had jaundice. Dr. Behm is expecting twins, a boy and a girl, in late November! We're so excited for her!

Big bro and lil bro. Best buddies!

*I'll be honest...I'm writing this blog almost a month after this actually happened...and everything is running together....this past month is such a haze! I barely remember this!

First day at home

We got home from the hospital right around lunch time. Kerrington and Kellan were at home with Mamaw and greeted us with open and very happy arms!

Admiring their little brother.

Uncle Aaron even came home from school to meet Keaton.

What a picture. My three boys. I love them!

She's smitten.

Sleepy baby. Nappin during dinner.

Our first photo as a family of 5. Taken on a tri-pod. That's how we do.

Snuggles before bed. What a good big sis.

Rest of Hospital Stay

Here's some pictures of the rest of our hospital stay with Keaton. We opted for a lil bit longer stay this go around. (With Kellan, he was born on Saturday afternoon, and we were home by Sunday evening. I was overwhelmed...to say the least).  We stayed in the hospital from Thursday evening to Saturday early-afternoon. Believe it or not, it was a great time for Drew and I to have some time with our newest lil angel before the reality of life hit us when we got home!

The very little time he spent in his bassinet...

Bath time!

We're very hands on...the staff seemed shocked when we offered to give our baby his bath.

Visitors....here's just a few of the wonderful people that came to see us!

The Bigs meet the Little

We decided to have my mom bring the kids down that night Keaton was born. We initially thought about waiting until the next afternoon, but they (and we) were too anxious to have them meet their little brother!

Kerrington brought her lil baby Keaton to the hospital.

Kellan was so sweet and so tender. He was curious about all of Keaton's lil details and wanted to give him all kinds of kisses.

Such a sweet big brother.

Checkin' him out...up close and personal.

Sister is layin a smackeroo on her littlest baby brother.

Brother too!

They're smitten!

The three greatest things I've ever done!

Sister was a bit anxious of the bed and machines at first, but once she saw how well Kellan was doing, she was ready to love on her lil dude.

My boys.

Helping the nurse get Keaton's temperature.

That's one proud big sister!

Opening gifts from baby Keaton.

A Big Book of Boo Boos

And a Jake doll!

Good bye kisses!

They were thrilled to meet their baby brother and both responded very well. I was overwhelmed with thankfulness as they left the room to go stay with their mamaw and papaw. God has truly blessed us!
