Tonight I did something brave (or stupid). I ventured out with all three kids...drove in the car, by myself. It wasn't horrible...just felt slightly torturous driving in the car hearing Keaton screaming and not being able to do anything about it. Add both older kids repeatedly telling me that he was crying...ok it was pure torture. Other than that...it was fantastic!
We went to the East Campus's Pumpkin Patch! We had costumes planned for Halloween, and Kerrington's was liable to get ruined if we let her wear it both nights, so we opted for other costumes. Kerrington was a beautiful Princess name Aurora, and Kellan was a Fireman!
This was taken after I nursed Keaton, got a portable potty out of the back of the van, unlatched Kellan, pulled his pants down, sat him on the potty, pulled his pants up, and disposed of the paper towel and bag he peed in to....simultaneously. (I know...why didn't I just let him pee out the side? He is a boy after all. Well, I certainly would have except we were being passed about every three seconds by a car and I didn't want to be the 'pastor's wife who let her kid pee in the parking lot of the church where everyone could see).
And let the fun begin! Candy!!!! Kerrington was all about it. No apprehension from this girl. She walked right up and collected her candy pieces with a 'please' and 'thank you'. Now Kellan, he wasn't so sure...he took a little coaxing to gather my, uh, I mean, his sugary goodness.
Nothing says Pumpkin Patch like a good ol' Face Paintin! A beautiful purple and yellow flower was drawn on her lil cheek.
Self-service. These people were trusting!
Annnd that's all the pictures I got. Give me a break people. I had a baby in sling and it was one of the first outings we had. There was a fire truck, but I couldn't snap a picture because Kellan was not so sure of it up close (even though he squeals with excitement whenever he sees on from our van). There were also bouncy houses, the kids got the chance to bounce for about 5 minutes with daddy while I fed Keaton before heading out. We ate some yummy chicken fingers and hot dogs with French fries before I made the torturous trek home driving the baby who doesn't like to not be held and the very informative big brother and sister :).
A fun night had by all!
