Happy 1 Month Kellan

I know I've said it before with Kerrington, but I REALLY can't believe that my baby boy is already 1 month old! This month has flown by especially with the holidays. Kellan spent just one night in the hospital and got to come home the very next day, but spent the next four days underneath the bili blanket due to jaundice! The following two weeks our sweet lil one was sick. He caught the virus that our girl had the weeks before and we had to drop saline and breast milk down his nose and suction with every feed.

Finally at about 3 weeks he was healthy! It's been a crazy couple of weeks getting adjusted to another baby in the house. Needless to say, Kerrington has been doing some adjusting on her own as well. I'm not going to say it was easy, but I do think we're getting better.

Here's the latest on Kellan:

  • Weighed 10 lbs 5 oz today at his weight check (Kerrington was 8 lbs 13oz at hers!).

  • Still fitting is some Newborn clothing...barely though. Size 0-3M fits well.

  • Wearing size 1 diapers.

  • Feeding between every 2-3 hours for about 1/2 to 45 mins every feed

  • He has had some good nights and bad nights with sleep. I know it's not good...but he's been sleeping next to me in bed. It's the only way that I can function (and by function, I mean get some sleep), so it works for us! Once he starts not eating quite as much we'll work on the sleeping thing.

  • He's a gassy lil one...we've starting giving gas drops for that.

  • His umbilical cord fell off last Wednesday (finally!), but we didn't get around to giving him a REAL bath until Sunday. He wasn't too crazy about it though.

  • He seems pretty low key and laid back, but like I've been telling people, I think I'm probably comparing him to how Kerrington acts now so of course he'd seem that way! :)

We're loving our new family...I just wish time would slow down sometimes and not go by so fast! We are so blessed and so happy to be raising these two sweet little blessings!

Hi Stacy! Found your blog through Erin Kessler's and I've been following ya here and there. I wanted to let you know that we've recently had our second too, and she is in bed with us as well! So don't feel bad, it's been great and I'm wondering why everyone doesn't do it instead of feeling like it's wrong or a bad thing to do... So glad you're enjoying being mom of two; it's like, the best thing! :) Journeying with you in Ohio- Sara Martin (formerly Dietz)
