Bedtime has become fun and special latley in our house. I wanted to share what happened last night when it was time for Kerrington to go to bed before it leaves my memory! We always read from her bible before we go to bed. Lately, she has wanted to 'read' so we let her flip through the pages and she 'reads' which really means she talks really loud!
Last night, as Kerrington was flipping through the pages, she came across the picture of Jesus on the cross, she paused, but there wasn't much more of a reaction. She flipped a few more pages and there was the picture of the empty tomb (we have the Rhyme Bible). She looked up at me and said, "Where's Jesus?". Immediately I was shocked and almost didn't know what to say. I have prayed and prayed for these teachable moments with our children and here one was! Wow! We got to talk for a short minute (anything with a toddler is short and quick) and I told her that Jesus died for our sins and went back up to Heaven. She then told me that Jesus was also "in her heart" because for a while now that has how we responded when we ask her where Jesus is. I couldn't contain my smile and my joy during this time. I pray that she will come to know and love Jesus, and hopefully this is just the start!
