eHappy 4 Months Kellan! You actually turned 4 months yesterday, but we had a bit of an eventful day and mommy wasn't able to get any pictures of you until today. Yesterday, we were at the doctor all morning and the lab/hospital the rest of the day. We took you to the doctor because on Sunday evening hives showed up on your face and forearms. They continued coming and going for the rest of the evening and night and you woke up with some, so off to the doctor we went. We discovered that it seemed like they were showing up right after you breastfed and disappeared about an hour later. Very bizarre. Your pediatrician wanted to run an allergy test on you so unfortunately they had to draw some blood. After the first nurse didn't get it, I asked them to please not do it again unless they were confident they would get some blood. This ended up sending us to their lab in midtown to see about drawing blood (we had a stop at Target before this to pick up medicine and daddy took your sister home for a nap). The lab technicians didn't feel comfortable sticking your rolly polly arms, so they said that our doctor's office would be faxing over a prescription to get your labs drawn at the hospital. We got to the hospital, and after registering, they successfully drew about 5mls of blood from your arm. You absolutely hated it, who wouldn't?! I was just relieved to have that over with. Our doctor wanted to put you on a dose of steroids, but your mommy just doesn't feel comfortable doing that at such a little age. I'm glad we didn't start them because you woke up this morning with a tiny spot, and since then I haven't noticed any. I am praying that they are gone for good. We should hear about the allergy tests later this week. You're getting tested for peanut, milk, soy, wheat, and pet dander. Even through all the events of the day, you were such a happy baby. I love your sweet smiles, and you were giving out plenty of them! Here is what's going on with you lately:
- You are wearing 3-6M clothes and some 6M.
- You weighted 15lbs 12oz (with clothes on) at the doctor yesterday.
- You are in size 2 diapers.
- You are breastfeeding every 3 hours and don't miss a meal. Since you've been sick for the past two weeks you're eating through the night too, maybe skipping one feeding. I don't mind, I know you'll eventually feel better and get back in to a good routine.
- When you get ready to eat you'll make these sounds like you're really excited. You kinda laugh in excitement. When you're ready to go to the other side, your tongue keeps moving till you're latched on...it keeps me entertained!
- You are easy going and have a good temperament about you. You smile, 'coo', and 'goo' often.
- Your eyes look as if they are going to be a light brown color, very handsome!
- Every still thinks that you and your sister look so much alike!
- You roll from your belly to your back during tummy time now!
- You love the chair your Gigi got you that has a bar with hanging elephants and a giraffe. When you're in it you kick your legs and are reaching for the animals now. You've even pulled them off a couple of times! Strong boy!

Getting bigger!

With the Pooh.

Here's a picture of your hives. This was last night before bed. Even with a nasty looking hive all over your face you're smiling and happy!

It was gone about half an hour later!
We love you Kellan. You are such an incredible blessing and we thank God for you every day. I was just thinking today that in two short months you'll be 6 months old and eating baby food! Wow! This is going by way to fast for your momma!
