Kellan, you are 9 months old today! You're taking your morning nap right now, but before you did I snapped a couple pictures of you in the chair. You light up when the camera is around, probably because I make silly noises and try my hardest to get the biggest smile out of you yet. Here's what's going on with you this month:
- You are barely squeezing in to any 6 month clothes, I think I need to let go of the idea that you fit in that size anymore. You're wearing mostly 9 month, some 6-12, and I bet you'd be comfortable in 12 month!
- We moved you up to size 4 diapers! I hope you'll stay in these for a while...you sister never moved out of the 4s, maybe you'll be the same? (one can hope)
- You LOVE to eat, and drink. In the past couple of weeks you've started eating some solid food. You love the puffs. When you go to eat them you just throw your hand up on the top of the high chair and sweep it to you...you're lucky to get more than one stuck to your hand! You've also enjoyed small pieces of bananas, teething biscuits, a few cheerios (but I got nervous), and some small pieces of bread.
- You have mastered drinking out of a sippy cup. We've only given you water and apple juice, but you sure do enjoy it!
- You are still breast feeding regularly. You go 3-4 hours during the day, and are still snacking at night...I'm not sure when you'll give that up.
- You eat 3 square meals of baby food daily. You start laughing/crying when you see the food...like it's been so long since you've last eaten.
- Last month I went on a retreat for two nights and one full day. You survived without me! We were wondering if you would because you are quite attached to your mommy right now.
- You go to sleep really well (compared to your sis at this age). We put you in your crib and you may only cry out for 1-5mins. You take two naps during the day and are ready for bed between 7 and 7:30
- You are pulling yourself up everywhere! This past month we had to lower your crib to the lowest setting because I came in to your room after a nap and you were standing up. You could have easily fallen out.
- You also are crawling, with two hands and two knees (and no belly) on the ground, just a little bit. You still prefer the army crawl.
- You gave up your pacifier. Ever since we started letting you 'cry it out' for bedtime and naps, you'd never get your pacifer back in your mouth so we decided to just go without it...makes life easier!
- You love your sister! When you see her in the morning, you get a huge smile on your face and squeal!
- You haven't made any sounds yet that sound like anything. You just yell for now!
We love you...
