Happy 5th Birthday Kerrington Leigh!

This is our sweet girl, the last night of being a four year old.

And this is our lil sweet girly, girl through out the years. 

Kerrington is five! WHHHHAAATTT? Well, if you know her, its really not that surprising. She acts fifteen most of the time (MOST of the time). My precious girl, our first born, our only girly girl. She is the epitome of the first born child. She's very independent, very strong willed, and very opinionated. All these character traits are wonderful and I can't wait to see how God uses these for His glory in her years to come! However, these beautiful character traits have already caused many 'battles' between mommy and wanna-be mommy. On the plus side, I've always got someone to bounce ideas or thoughts off of who will give me an honest opinion. This five year is wiiiise beyond her years. Almost too much for her own good. She is perfect at emulating tone and facial expressions. I often feel like I'm staring at myself when she is in imagination-mode and is explaining to me why she had to take her baby to the doctor. 

Kerrington is the BEST big sister in the United States of America. Hands down. She loves those two brothers of hers. She's a great stand in mommy when I need help, always willing to grab something I need, show Kellan how to do something, or entertain a fussy baby. I have no doubt that she will some day be a great mommy to some precious babies! Kerrington has a heart of gold. She got that from her daddy. She is sweet, kind and compassionate. She loves anyone she meets and is especially caring to kids she meets that seem to need some extra TLC. She is very aware of the people around her, and their emotions/feelings. She can recognize very quickly if someone is hurting or upset and she becomes very concerned for them. I especially love this about her. It's rare to see this in a kid her age.

We got to celebrate her birthday at school since it fell on a Friday this year! She walked around and showed ALL the adults her birthday pin.

We went out to dinner at Mellow Mushroom (her choice) for her birthday dinner. She got a new Sofia night gown from Mamaw and Papaw. She's our beautiful princess!

We went for her 5 year check up a couple of days after her birthday. She was proud to show off her 'stat's' and did an awesome job. She's been anxious of doctor/dentist offices ever since we had a bad experience. Last year, at her 4 year check up, she wouldn't do the eye and ear exams. Total anxiety attack. I was worried about how she'd be this year. Other than then finger prick to test her Hemoglobin, she did wonderfully. She knew that in order to go to her new school for kindergarten in the fall, she had to do the eye and ear exams. I think that helped!

Kerrington will always be special to us. She's the first baby in our family and extended families. She's the trailblazer, and oh how appropriate for her to fulfill that role. She is beautiful, inside and out. We love her more than she EVER could imagine, and oh how God's love surpasses that. Happy Birthday Kerrington Leigh Humphreys. You are smart, you are important, you are beautiful and kind. You're the best!
