K's artwork

Since starting Kindergarten a little over a month ago, our lil girl has become a lil artist! Her creativity is being expressed and Drew and I are amazed at some of the things she is making. I try to keep most of it, but I also saw somewhere where people took pictures to remember them. This is one that I didn't want to forget:

]
She came to me first with just this. If you can't read it, it says, "This is the bud (blood) uv (of) God". The picture is a table and  communion cup with juice.

This was the final picture. The second table has a loaf of bread on it and it says, "This is the boe (body) of God."

She also drew three crosses and Mary, Martha, and one other person bowing to the cross. It was surely a proud moment that some of the things that she is learning and hearing at home and church are being stored in her heart!

Happy 11 Months Keaton Jay!

Keaton Jay is 1 month away from turning the big ONE!! We are excited to have a one year old in the house again and watch as he grows, discovers, and learns new things each day! Here's what Keaton's been up to lately:

  • Wearing 12 month clothing
  • Size 3 diapers... I'm not sure on his weight, but we're on the tail end of a size 3 pack of diapers, so when this pack is done, I think we'll switch to the size 4s.
  • Keaton is a garbage disposal. He eats anything and everything that is put in front of him these days. And, if he doesn't have something to 'eat' himself (i.e. not spoon fed), he'll let you know about it. This is a dream come true. A not picky eater...I've never had one of these before!
  • He is still nursing about 3-4 times a day. Its obviously becoming less about nutrition and more of a comfort since he's eating so much table food, but we're going strong. We'll introduce some whole milk in the next month and see how it goes. I'm ready to wean when my lil guy is.
  • He is going to sleep around 7:30 and usually will come and visit mommy and daddy in our room around 4:30 in the morning. He doesn't need it, but he'll nurse back to sleep, and snuggle 'til its time to wake up. Drew and I love it, and believe that the time passes too quickly, so we'll enjoy our lil morning visitor for now!
  • He's crawling (hands and feet) every where! He's a quick one too!
  • He loves to stand up on furniture, but he doesn't go far, yet. I'm sure it's coming soon. The older two were both walking on or around their first birthdays so I'd imagine Keaton will do the same.
  • He does this really cute thing with his nose where he crinkles it up when he's being silly. It's the cutest.
  • He has two teeth on top, three on the bottom.
  • He knows how to give kisses now...open mouthed kisses, but kisses nonetheless.
  • As you can see, he has the cutest, most adorable blond hair and bluish-green eyes. This has got to be coming from his daddy. It's definitely not from me (I was brown hair and eyes from the day I was born). Either way, I love it. I love that he has his own unique look and I can't wait to see him grow!

Silly Pooh.

Mom, this is just silly.

The only way I could keep him still for approximately 0.3 seconds to snap some pictures. Give him food.

We are so in love with this lil guy. He's perfect and we are overjoyed that we've had these 330(ish) days to love and care for him.

Spirit Day/ Wildcat Game

We've lived in Richmond Hill for nearly 3 years and are finally able to celebrate our hometown pride in the Richmond Hill Wildcats! With this being Herrington's first year as a Wildcat, she gets to participate in all the fun school spirt days and cheer on the Wildcats too! Every Friday home game, every student is encouraged to dress in the school colors (black and gold). Here's our pretty girl, representin':

On a whim, we decided to go to the home game as a family to watch the Wildcats.

We had so much fun, and can't wait to cheer on the Wildcats all season! Go Wildcats!

Happy 10 months Keaton Jay!

10 Months on the 10th! You know what that means...just two months until your 1st birthday! Time to start planning a fun birthday bash. You only turn 1 once, right?!

Here's what you've been up to this month:

  • You weighed 20 lbs 10 oz and your height was 29.25inches at your 9 month check-up! (That's 47th percentile for weight, and 76 for height!
  • Size 12 month clothing (you squeeze in to some 9 month still)
  • Size 3 diapers
  • You're breastfeeding and eating like a champ! We've got a pretty good schedule during the day and you're still unpredictable at night.
  • Daily, you nurse between 6-7am, and then eat breakfast. After breakfast, you play and then are ready for another nap between 9:45 and 10:30. You're a short napper (usually), so they only last between 1/2 and 45 minutes. After nap, you wake and nurse and then play/eat lunch. Another nap time around 1(ish). Another afternoon nurse session follows and then you play or go along with whatever else we've got going on. Sometimes your nurse again before dinner and sometimes you don't. You're ready for bed again between 7:30 and 8!
  • You started crawling on your hands and knees! You still revert to your army crawl if you've got to be somewhere quickly, but it was fun to watch you start crawling (p.s. it was ice cream that got you to MOVE up on your hands and knees)
  • You're a happy, easy dude. You've got to be with big sister and brother!

Just Another Day on the Beach.

We had some very sweet friends invite us out on their boat today. It was incredible. In the five years we've lived here we have never been out on the boat together! The Clifton family took us to Wassaw Island and we got to spend a few hours on the beach (that is an island...did I mention that? Only assessable by boat). We had such a great time and are planning on going out again on Labor Day.

The kiddies 'fishing'.

Riley was showing them how do do it.

Not even one and has been on a island. How cool!
Icees on the way home!

First Day of KINDERGARTEN!

Welp, the day has come. Our first born, our baby girl, is off to Kindergarten. I know, I know, she's gone to Pre-school. This shouldn't be a big deal. But, you moms understand. Every milestone, every new thing is a big deal.

When we moved to Georgia, 5 years ago (this month), our end goal was to end up in Richmond Hill because we heard how excellent their school system was and we planned to send our girl there. It's amazing that this time has come. I was in denial for awhile, but preparing this weekend, and waking up this morning it hit. There is no turning back.

I was anxious most of the weekend, but something awesome happened when we got back home after drop off. I was at peace, I was calm, I wasn't the emotional basket case I imagined I'd be. God has had mercy on me! Our sweet girl, this precious angel, was so excited to go to school! She had a card prepared for her teacher, tucked in her backpack that proclaimed, 'She can't wait to spend the day with her'. I'll tell you what, Mrs. Couch is one blessed woman to get to spend so much time with my girl.

It's just 11 o'clock. I'm not sure what she's up to right now, but my heart is happy. I'm anxious for this afternoon when I can pick her up and hear all about her day. I hope she's ready to spill the beans!

Here's pictures from this morning: (I'll probably post another blog about her day!)

Princess K

Check it out, this girl is ready.

Lovin' on daddy!

And Mommy too!

She's got this!
