Squash for Josh

Back in July I felt the urge to begin exercising. I had (although I hate to admit it) gained a few pounds and unfortunately, they weren't going any where. I decided to start a Couch to 5K program in the middle of July. In Georgia. Not a smart idea, I know. But, nevertheless, I did it! About half way through the program I decided to sign up for my first 5K so I had a goal to reach. Today, I ran my first 5K!!!!

My friend Colleen is AHHH-AMAZING! She decided to start running with me and only had about 3 or 4 weeks to train (she also wasn't feeling well the day of the race and completed it...GO HER!).

I had my own cheering squad, complete with my babies, husband, mom, dad, and brother! How cool is that!

Kerrington, mom, and Aaron were on the path, Kellan, Dad, and Drew were at the end with signs.....so fun!

We did it!!!! I tell ya what, I was SUPER proud that I finished something I had set my mind to. I was so proud that Colleen and I decided to work towards a 10K! That's our next goal! Never in a million years would I have thought I might have enjoyed running....

Five YEARS!

This weekend Drew and I celebrated 5 years of marriage! A LOT has happened in these past five years, but I wouldn't have it any other way. It's a blessing to be married to Drew. God has grown us and changed us in these past 5 years and I can't wait to see what He has planned in the next 5 (if it's 4 moves, I'm not sure I'll make it!). So, 4 moves, 2 children, 1 dog, and many, many, many more happenings in between, and we're still in love, even more so than the day we said 'I do'.

For our anniversary, a family at church let us stay in their cabin in Northwest Georgia. It was beautiful, and just what we needed! We relaxed for a few days, rode around on some four wheelers, talked to some horses, ate some ice cream, ate Mexican, and just relaxed. My kind of weekend!

Mommy/Kellan Time

Another blessing that I've found from Kerrington being in pre-school, is some mornings, I have myself to this lil guy...

There has never been a 'just me and Kellan'. To have these times with him is invaluable!

Our first morning together, we had to celebrate, so we went to get some donuts of course!

Kellan thought they were YUMMY!

I LOVE YOU KELLAN BULL HUMPHREYS!

First Day of Pre-school

This day has come...I can't believe it! Our baby, our sweet, lil, 6 pound, 13 ounce first born child had her first day of pre-school! It was a great morning, a great day, here are a few pictures (ok, a LOT) to remember our special day!

Special breakfast for a special day!

Ready to eat...she's got to be strong and well fed :)

Look at that SMILE!

Brother wanted to 'CHEEESE'' too!

Y'all think she's excited?

Peek-a-boo!

Mommy wanted a picture

So did daddy!

That backpack is as big as she is!

Good-bye kisses...I wasn't sad at all...more excited for all the wonderful experiences she was going to have!

Like I said...I wasn't sad, until I was handed THIS. Oh my. What a way to tug at the heart strings! Mrs. Opal, had K put her hand prints on this poster on the night of orientation, it's a poem about leaving your child with their teacher...yup, I shed a tear!

It was so fun...she had a blast and I can't WAIT to see all the fun she has in store. What a blessing to give her this opportunity!

Preschool Orientation

Preschool Orientation....what?! I can't believe I'm even typing this! Our baby, our little girl, just had preschool orientation.

To get to this night was so amazing for our family. We desired for Kerrington to get to go to preschool at church since the beginning of this year. We weren't sure if it would be possible, but trusted that if it was God's will, it would work out. We are so blessed to have the opportunity to send her to school this year. Our God is good!

We have been 'talking' up school to Kerrington for awhile now, hoping it would ease any anxiousness she might have had. Thankfully, the school is where she goes to 'class' on the weekends, and she is very familiar with her settings. Tonight, before we left for orientation, I was telling Kerrington that we were going to go see her teacher. She has been telling us (whenever we talk about school) that she would go 'when she was bigger'. She said to me tonight after I told her we were going to see her teacher, ' but I'm not big yet!'. I could tell she was getting a little anxious. Thankfully, she did GREAT! She met her teacher, Mrs. Opal and teachers assistant, Mrs. Deeanna and walked right in her classroom! No tears, to looking back! I was so thankful!

I'm so incredibly blessed and so excited for Kerrington!

Melissa, Emily, and Britt...pre-k for Emily this year!

Bryson and K. We were hoping they'd be in the same class...no such luck, but we were happy to see them there!

Such a special night!

Poor girl...

Well, we seem to have a yearly tradition with Kerrington. Breaking bones. Yeah, not the type of tradition I'd ever hope to start. If you're wondering how this tradition started, let me take you back to January 2010. Kerrington was a mere 10 months old. Our baby had her leg rolled over on my our humongo dog and she got a spiral fracture. Luckily, she was healed within a week or two.

Let's move forward 1 year and about 5 months. In late June 2011, Kerrington flipped out of a buggy at Publix and smacked her head on the floor. This, obviously, was a much more substantial injury and required a stay in the hospital. We were extremely anxious that our girl was hurt, but praising God that His had was with her, and of course, she came away from that injury with no lasting side effects.

So, here we are, July 2012. We were just 1 year and about 14 days out of her last injury. Wednesday night, Drew had the kids out shopping for my birthday while I was at a get-together for MOPs. It was a pure accident (as was all the others), but she fell running around the van to get to the stroller (she wanted to push her brother). She fell, right on her shoulder. Drew said she cried instantly and was pretty hard to console. I honestly thought there was no way we could be going through this again, and really, really didn't want to spend the rest of the night in the ER. I knew (from my experience) that if she had really hurt something (like her collarbone), that there wasn't much they could do that night, so we decided to wait out the night, and if she still hurt in the morning, we'd take her to the doctor.

Morning time came (she slept in our bed just so we could keep her an eye on her) and she still was in pain. We get to the doctor, go get an x-ray, and of course, our poor baby has broken her collar bone. After a visit with the orthopedic doctor, we were given a sling, and instructions to not use her left arm for 4 weeks. If we could keep her immobilized for that long, she can have it off!

So, here we are...for the next four weeks! We are up for the challenge!

We've determined that this girl is just plain clumsy! We hope to BREAK (pun intended) this tradition next year...

(quick) Orlando trip

Every year ther is a North American Christian Convention. This year, it was held in Orlando and we had the opportunity to take a quick trip down there (since it's only a short 4 hours). Drew was able to get us in to a character dinner, and let me tell you, K was thrilled! We were able to dine with Goofy and Pluto. Kellan, wasn't as thrilled! He didn't know what to think. Silly boy.

So Happy!

Um dad...get that thing away from me.

Yup, this about how she looked the whole dinner!

Our buddy, Pluto!

We took a stroll through Downtown Disney afterwards!

Sis gave Cinderella a hug!
