Today Kerrington had her two month check-up with Dr. Bird. Let's just say, the girl isn't missing any meals. She's 12 pounds! In the 74th percentile for weight. 22 inches long, I believe they said the 34th percentile in height! I knew she was growing, but my goodness, I certainly wasn't expecting to see 12 lbs. on the scale! I'm just so glad that she's growing from eating mommy's milk. It was a wish of mine that I would be able to breastfeed successfully, and I am so glad that she is doing so well with it!
I love our pediatrician, he is so helpful and so kind. He certainly doesn't treat us like the "first time" parents who don't know anything, but at the same time gives us all the information, and answers all the questions we have. If you're looking for a pediatrician, I definitely would suggest him!
Unfortunately today was shot day as well. Our baby girl had to have two shots in her thighs, and one oral vaccine. She took the oral vaccine like it was candy, didn't like the shots as much. She was easily calmed though, only crying for about 30 seconds to a min (the longest 30 seconds ever!). I don't think our night is going to be so much fun though. It is now 10:00pm, Kerrington is being rocked upstairs in her room by her daddy. Notoriously this isn't the best time of night for her, and I think with the shots today added on top, we're going to have us one fussy baby for the evening...to early morning!
The extra fussiness tonight has been really hard on Drew. Don't get me wrong, I hate seeing and hearing our little one crying and upset, but I think that because I (kind of) take care of crying babies as my job, I don't get quite as stressed. Drew on the other hand, had a really hard time tonight when Kerrington was extra fussy. It is so difficult to see your child crying and not knowing how or what to do to make them feel better.
I'm so thankful for a loving husband, and a daddy to my baby girl that cares so much about her. It truly is the best thing to see him loving on her. There is no question about it... this girl is truly LOVED by her mommy and daddy!
