Crinkle nose

Kerrington started something new as of yesterday.... she'll crinkle up her nose and breathe really fast in and out of it...it's the cutest thing I've ever seen. Luckily this morning I was able to catch her doing it while she was eating her cereal and peaches. She's been doing it while eating or when she's playing with me. I think I've got a lil ham on my hands...

Kerrington will be 6 months on Monday. I'll try my best to get a post up of her pics. Right now we dont' have a computer at home so I've just been borrowing Drew's work computer several nights a week to keep everyone updated and check emails and facebook. Here's a few more pics of the babe:

Go Blue!

Ok, all you Ohioans don't hate me for this post! I thought I would bring a big smile to my brother Aaron if I post these pics for him. Obviously, he's a BIG Michigan Wolverines fan and last spring he went up to see a practice and bought this onsie for Kerrington to wear during the fall season. She wore it for their first game and so far it's brought the team luck because they've won their first two games! If you send us your favorite teams onsie, maybe we'll consider representing them...and maybe it will help your team out!

2 Years!

Monday was our 2 year Wedding Anniversary! In no way did I think that we would be celebrating our anniversary living in Georgia! Wow! What an incredible year we've had though! Last time this year we were celebrating our 1st anniversary knowing that we had a little baby growing inside of me. This year, we had our sweet angel to celebrate with us! Drew and I knew that we wanted to start a family sooner rather than later, and God did bless us sooner! We fortunately got pregnant 1 month out of not preventing! We are so grateful and thankful for His blessing us with Kerrington, she's changed our life and made our marriage so much sweeter.

When Kerrington was about 3 months old we were presented with the opportunity to move our family to Georgia for Drew to start a new position here. That was a major challenge for us! We dealt with new things and God challenged Drew and I in different ways. This decision to move and the process getting down here has made our marriage stronger. We had to lean on each other in ways we never did before.
I can't wait to see how God will challenge us and use us in this next year of marriage. I am more in love with Drew today then the day I married him, but not as much as tomorrow!

Monday we had the opportunity to drive up to Hilton Head and spend the day there. We took Kerrington to the beach for the first time and let her experience the sand and water. Afterward, we got some lunch, walked around the outlet malls for awhile then traveled back to Savannah. We got cleaned up and headed to downtown Savannah for dinner. We didn't know quite were to go so the first place we stumbled on was a restaurant called The Old Pink House. It was amazing! The food was delicious!

We had a great day together...here's some pics of our day:

After our night out on the town!

We're back together again...in Savannah!

After almost 2 weeks apart, our family was back together again this past Friday. As much of you have heard, we had quite the fiasco with our furniture and the company that "moved" it for us! The original plan was for the moving company (United States Moving Services) to come and pick up our things on Monday, August 24th and Drew was going to leave afterward and travel with his mom by car down to Savannah. Well, they didn't end up coming until that night and Drew didn't get to leave until Tuesday. As well, they didn't end up delivering our things until this past Friday. That delayed our arrival here by a week because we thought it'd be pretty hard to live in a place with nothing and a 5 month old baby.

We're here now and so are our things! We unpacked over the weekend and celebrated our 2 year anniversary on Monday at HILTON HEAD! How cool is that?! As we were driving there, we couldn't believe that we were spending our anniversary on the beach. God is pretty good!

Drew and I really love our new place. It was quite and adjustment going from a three bedroom house with a basement and garage to a 2 bedroom condo with neither a basement nor garage. We're so happy with our lives though, God has shown us SO much through this move. We know that what is most important is that we are together as a family and serving God's kingdom. Everything else is just...stuff!

Since this is my first post since the move, I'll try and post some pics from the last few weeks. Drew brought his computer home from work so I could get on the Internet and post some pics of the baby...we're working on getting our Internet set up here.

Kerrington has done phenomenal with the move! She did great on the flight down, just a small cry before falling asleep on the plane! She's just watched us while unpacking...probably being entertained with all the movement! She's had a couple of firsts already being down here:

  • Sunday was her first time in the nursery! I was going to put her in the nursery a couple of weeks ago at Mason, but then when I found out our move was so soon, I decided to just keep her out. She did well though (or at least that's what they said!), she was pretty tired when I got her, I think they were trying to get her to sleep and she was fighting it! Since then she went back tonight for Wednesday night choir rehearsal, I think she'll really learn to enjoy all those ladies loving on her.

  • She is cutting her first tooth! Last week I saw what looked like 2 little white things and I thought they might be teeth, and sure enough, there is a little tooth coming through on her bottom gum! She isn't too fussy though, thank goodness! I'm not sure she really even notices it!

  • She is eating like crazy...sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, green beans, apples, and bananas to name a few of the things she has tried. She loves them all, not a picky eater...yet!

  • She's rolling both ways now (from front to back, and back to front)

Ok..here's some pics:

Happy 5 Months Kerrington!!

Friday was Kerrington's 5 month birthday! She's already 5 months....I'll blink and she'll be 5 years! Yikes! The pics of her 5 months are a little rushed because we were trying to get out the door to go to Drew's hometown to say goodbye and unfortunately the babe was ready for a nap! That's okay though, we got em!

Let's see what the girl has been up to lately:

  • Well, still the cutest lil baby I've ever seen (I'm not being partial at all!)

  • Everyone, and I mean everyone that sees her says at least one comment on her rolls... I keep telling her that has a baby, everyone thinks it's cute. I don't think she takes offense to it!

  • She's discovered her voice, and I'm not sure if it's fortunately, or unfortunately, but I think she's gonna be like her dad. She's not afraid to be heard. She'll scream, for no good reason, just to hear herself I think. I told Drew there was no turning back after she started one day.

  • She's been successfully eating rice cereal, and loving it! We started after her 4 month check-up and she has fully gotten the idea now. She knows exactly what to do when that spoon comes close to her mouth. I can't wait to start some other foods soon!

  • She just recently found out she has feet! I had her in her bumbo the other day and all the sudden she was trying to grab at her feet! It's so fun to watch her discover new things!

  • She also has recently discovered Ollie! (I'm not sure how happy he is about it though) She will see him coming and get a huge smile on her face!

  • She's rolling from her belly to back, only when she wants though, and not often...too much work for her :)

  • No more sleeping through the night. I'm not sure what happened. I was hoping with the cereal that she would be filled the whole night. She will wake up between 4 and 5 in the morning, and usually just want some lovin... which of course I'd be more than willing to give out!

  • I think her eyes are going to be brown. Her left is totally brown, but the right still has some blue in a corner of it. The verdict is still out, but looking like it might be brown.

  • She's looking more and more like her daddy. She was a spitting image of me when I was born, but as she's growing, she's turning into a little Drew!
She's amazing...everyday is something new. I look forward to all the new discoveries she'll make in the next few months. I'm still telling her to stop growing, but she isn't listening. I guess I'll just have to settle with watching her grow!

Next Friday she'll have her 4th plane ride! This girl is becoming a world traveler (I guess just to Savannah and back, but at 5 months! That's quite an accomplishment!)

Kerrington, we love you! I hope that you'll enjoy your new surroundings down in Savannah!!!

The Zoo

Yesterday I took Kerrington to the zoo for the first time! I wanted to take her there and a couple of other places before we left Cincinnati because I have memories of these places when I was younger. Looks like the zoo will be the only place we'll get to go to, but maybe we'll have a chance to go when she's a bit older and we come back to visit.

I met a few friends from work there and we walked around and saw all the animals! With Kerrington only being 5 months (tomorrow), I'm sure she just saw funny looking things she's never seen before, but we snapped a few pics for memories!

I think her favorite part was the manatees. It's inside and you get to see them and other fish in a huge tank. I put Kerrington next to the tank and she just watched the fish as they swam by. I bet she wanted to get in the water!!!

We had a good time, we only wish that daddy could have been there. He was in Savannah trying to find us a place to live. I bought Kerrington a book as a souvenir and taped her ticket to the back. I thought I should get a book to read instead of a stuffed animal until she's old enough to ask for those!

Savannah here we come!

As many of you know by now, Drew, Kerrington, Ollie and I are moving to Savannah, Georgia. Although the time between our announcement and departure was very short, we've known this could be a possibility since the beginning of June.

We're very excited for the possibilities ahead, although the journey has been hard. I guess that's how it should be though right? I think that even though I've known that this could be a possibility since June, I have really processed deeply the impact that it will have on our lives. Since it's been official (about 2 weeks now), Drew and I have packed up the house, and started saying goodbye to friends and family. As I say goodbye, I don't think my mind is letting my heart realize that we're leaving, not on a vacation, but leaving, to go live somewhere else. I think I've also been distracted with all it takes to move. I've never moved 12 hours away before, and never have I moved with a 5 month old baby, or moved out of a house I've owned! I've never quit a job that I chose as my career, I've never held my own yard sale.... I could go on, but I think you get my point. This is all totally new to me. And I must get something stated right now. Drew has been incredible throughout this all. Without him, I would be hiding in a corner. He has pulled much of this off, and been cool, calm, and collected through most of it. I think we make a good team, and balance each other out well.

Like I said, this hasn't been easy for us, but who said it would be? We've both tried to remind each other through this that we are trying our best to follow God's will and trust Him with our lives. Sometimes that's easier said than done, especially when it seems that everything is going wrong like our house not selling, for instance. At the beginning of this journey, a friend of Drew's said to rest in Him, to have peace with the situation and if so, it will work out. Everyday we try to do that. I hope God is honored in this, I hope He is glorified and that we can rely on Him to pull us through. I know He will.

So, we leave next week. Drew leaves after the moving truck comes on Monday, and Kerrington and I fly down on Friday to meet Drew and his mom in our new apartment (which Drew is currently trying to find as I type)!

I hope to post a couple more blogs before we leave, I need to catch up on some things. With all this going on, our Internet hasn't been cooperating either. I'm lucky if I get five minutes before it goes out. I'll try my best though. Pics of the girl are coming!
