Tis the Season

I don't know why, but we got the crazy idea to take the kiddos to see Santa today. I was anxious about it before we left the house because Kerrington was having a bit of a morning, but we went ahead and did it anyway...it turned out to be an interesting day, but ended well, and that's what counts!

We got to the mall and decided to eat first so that Kerrington wouldn't be too crabby with Santa. Well, when we got up to the line to see Santa, there was one other family in front of us, and they said Santa would be back in an hour!!! Well for all you mommas out there...an hour is an eternity with a toddler, and now a newborn! I wasn't to keen on staying, but didn't know what to do... I think this frustrated Drew, and we got in a bit of an argument.

We decided to leave the mall and try the mall that's a bit closer to our house. We got there, and of course, the Santas take their breaks at the same time! We were there though, so we stuck it out and waited...and here is the pic we got...

All we could do was laugh. It's really all we could expect from our 20 month toddler (at her nap time) and newborn. It's definitely a memory we ( and hopefully she) will cherish.

We got a call on the way home that our church needed a baby Jesus for their Journey program. They were filming a commercial and would need Kellan to be baby Jesus for about 10 minutes. Before Kellan was born, we were asked if he arrived in time would we allow him to be baby Jesus. I politely turned them down because I knew he'd be to brand new to be outside that long, but I was ok with 10 minutes. So we packed up again and headed to church so he could star in his first film! He was a wonderful baby Jesus, and here's the shot we got from that...

All in all, it was a crazy, but good day. As if I couldn't already, what sleep I do get tonight, will be good.
